Mr. Alex May, our founder, obtained his BLC in 1998 and his LLB in 1990 at the University of Pretoria. He served as a legal advisor for three years at Glenrand MIB until 1993 where he managed claims made against attorneys and other professionals where they acted negligently on behalf of their clients. Mr. May served his articles from 1993 at Bowens and later at Webber Wentzel Bowens (as it then was) in Johannesburg, and founded Alex May Attorneys in 1995 in Pretoria.
Mr. May was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of Pretoria in 1995 and was later granted right of appearance in the High Court in Gauteng.
In 2009 Alex May Attorneys was acquired by Alex May Incorporated (‘AMI’). It acquired a large and diverse client base on corporate and individual level.
