During 2004 Mr. Mangena was appointed by the Law Society of South Africa’s Legal Education and Development unit to coordinate a course on the drafting of commercial contracts offered to candidate Attorneys at the Polokwane Law School. His expertise on property law was utilized in the training of attorneys preparing to sit for the specialized conveyancing exam offered by the Law Society of the Northern Provinces. Mr. Mangena has served the profession in various capacities and including as an instructor for conveyancing classes. He is a member of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces specialized property law committee. He acted as a Judge of the High Court in Limpopo, Polokwane from 01 – 30 June 2017, Gauteng, Pretoria, and Johannesburg from 09 October to 10 November 2017. In 2018 he acted for the period 01 June to 21 September 2018 at Polokwane High court.
