Michael Strauss
Michael Strauss joined the Department of Justice in 2004 as a Judges Registrar at the then Johannesburg High Court, shortly whereafter he was admitted as an Advocate in the same division. He joined Ian Levitt Attorneys in 2006 and was admitted to the side bar as an attorney in 2008. He became a partner in the firm in 2010. He has a BA (Law) Degree from the University of Stellenbosch and a LLB degree from the Rand Afrikaans University. Michael specializes in both , and criminal , and has been involved in various high profile matters on both a national and International Lawscale. His experience in criminal , includes criminal trials, urgent , extraditions, criminal appeals and all other aspects relating to criminal law. Civil Lawly, Michael acts for a host of , companies and renders a wide variety of legal services to them, including but not limited to Civil Law , Civil Law appeals,of ,customs and excise related issues and ,s. He has appeared in the Supreme Court of appeal on a number of occasions. Michael has established very close ties with the Chinese community in South Africa, which client base now constitutes 50% of his practice.
