Listing Description

Founded in 1939 by Stephanus Johannes (SJ) Naude, fresh from completing his articles of clerkship, the firm initially operated out of a single office opposite the Alberton Magistrate’s Court. Over the years, it grew from strength to strength and is now based in the historic post office building in Alberton North.

As time passed, SJ’s son, Faan, joined the firm and eventually took over after SJ’s passing. The current director is Ginie Naude, who married Faan in 1982.

The firm holds a significant place in history as the first in Alberton to employ a black candidate attorney toward the end of Apartheid, setting a notable precedent in the community.

Though Faan and SJ have passed, their legacy of excellence and commitment to community service continues to thrive in the firm today.
